Frequently asked questions
STRAIGHT ANSWERS.
NO GUESSWORK.
From crane selection and lifting capacities to erection, dismantling and equipment hire, here are answers to some of the questions we regularly encounter.
What types of tower cranes does Boland Cranes supply?
We specialise in tower crane hire, including luffing-jib, flat-top and hammerhead cranes. Our fleet includes equipment from manufacturers such as Terex, Potain, Jarlway, Zoomlion, Yongmao and Raimondi.
The right crane depends on the job, not just the model. Browse our Fleet & Specifications page or contact us to discuss availability.
How do I know which crane is suitable for my project?
Crane selection starts with the loads you need to lift, the working radii, hook heights, available crane locations and surrounding site constraints.
Send us your site plans, elevations and indicative lifting requirements. We can help identify suitable options and coordinate specialist engineering input where required.
Where can I find crane load charts and specifications?
Available manufacturer documents are linked from our Fleet & Specifications page.
Published brochures are a general reference only. Actual capacities depend on the installed configuration and its applicable load chart. Please confirm the correct chart and configuration with our team before relying on technical figures for lift planning.
Can you provide crane operators, dogmen and riggers?
Yes. Depending on the hire arrangement and scope of work, we can provide appropriately licensed and competent crane operators, dogmen and riggers.
Tell us what personnel you require when requesting a quotation so we can confirm the proposed arrangements.
Do you handle tower crane erection and dismantling?
Yes. Tower crane erection and dismantling form part of our specialist services.
Each job is planned around the specific site, including access, mobile crane requirements, exclusion zones, crane configuration and applicable engineering documentation. Early discussions help identify constraints before installation or removal.
Can Boland Cranes assist with planning and engineering?
Yes. We can help assess crane selection and configuration requirements and coordinate the engineering inputs needed for an installation.
Where specialist design, verification or certification is needed, we engage appropriately qualified external engineering consultants. Engineering requirements are determined by the crane and the site-specific circumstances.
Do you supply construction hoists and loading bays?
Yes. Our equipment offering includes personnel-and-materials construction hoists and retractable loading bays, including ANKA hoists and 2.2 m Linc Deck loading bays.
Suitable equipment, rated capacity and installation or structural support arrangements must be confirmed for each job. View the Fleet page or ask our team for details.
Do you sell tower cranes as well as hire them?
Yes. While tower crane hire is our core business, we also welcome enquiries about purchasing second-hand tower cranes.
Availability varies, so please contact our team to discuss what you're looking for and any current sales opportunities.
What areas do you service?
Boland Cranes is based in Caboolture, Queensland. We work across Queensland and Northern New South Wales, subject to equipment availability and mobilisation requirements.
Let us know your project location and proposed dates and we can discuss the options.
What information should I send for a quotation?
It's helpful to provide as much of the following as you have:
- Project address and contact details
- Site plans and elevations
- Expected load weights, lifting radii and hook-height requirements
- Proposed installation date and hire duration
- Known access restrictions and site constraints
- Any requirements for operators, dogging, rigging, hoists or loading bays
Don't have everything yet? That's fine. Contact our team with what you know, and we'll help identify what's still needed.
STILL HAVE QUESTIONS?
Every project presents different lifting requirements. Talk to our team about your site, equipment needs and proposed crane configuration.
General information only. Site-specific engineering, manufacturer instructions and the applicable crane load charts take precedence.
